Antoniades Architects is delighted to announce that the development application for our extraordinary mixed-use project at the Castle Cove Country Club has been approved.

The approved scheme includes the demolition of the existing golf clubhouse and its surrounding on-grade parking, making way for a new, purpose-built clubhouse fronting Deepwater Road. In addition, the project delivers 17 luxurious seniors living residences with basement parking, located on the footprint of the former clubhouse.

The design approach was grounded in a careful response to the existing character of Castle Cove, integrating two distinct buildings, each sensitively designed into the landscape in a considered and cohesive manner.

The new clubhouse design is inspired by and reflects upon Walter Burley Griffith’s work on the original clubhouse and in the broader suburb. These references are expressed through a contemporary architectural language that remains sympathetic to its surroundings.

The senior’s living building has been meticulously designed to offer a high level of amenity, with its massing and façade articulation thoughtfully broken down to an appropriate scale to ensure a harmonious relationship with the site and neighbouring residential context.

This approval marks an exciting step forward in renewing an important community asset, with a design outcome that enhances both the built environment and the broader neighbourhood fabric
