We are delighted to have recently lodged a development application for the redevelopment of the Castle Cove Country Club. The project entails the demolition of the existing golf clubhouse and related on-grade carparking, and replaced with a new clubhouse building which includes parking that fronts onto Deepwater Road, together with 17 seniors living residences, with basement parking in the location of the existing rundown clubhouse.

The proposal seeks to harmoniously integrate the existing qualities of the surrounding area with two highly considered, sensitively, and contemporary designed buildings. The typologies of the buildings are reflective of their respective use and location on the site.

The club design is inspired by the characteristics of the area, including reflecting of Walter Burley Griffith’s work on the club and the neighbourhood, and reinterpret these details into a new contemporary building that is sympathetic with its surroundings.

The design of the seniors living building, its massing and facades are articulated to break down the scale and create a contextually fit residential building. The proposal has been designed to provide an excellent amenity for the occupants as well as a pleasant and positive contribution to the site and surrounding environment.
