Berkeley Street in Carlton for Urbanest is a 13-storey purpose-built student accommodation development comprising of 236 beds with associated communal facilities on ground level as well as on the roof level.
The design responds to the dual frontage offered by the site including the inclusion of a through site link connecting Berkeley Street to the rear lane and beyond. The architecture is inspired by the industrial buildings historically located in the precinct. The outcome delivers a contextually sensitive building that has a tactile yet modern robust interpretation.
